Seed Tier & Manual Accounts

A new $19/year entry point for budget-focused users, plus manual accounts and API docs.

Not everyone needs bank syncing. Some people prefer to enter transactions by hand, or they're just getting started and want to try envelope budgeting without connecting their bank.

The Seed tier

A new plan at $19/year that gives you the full budgeting experience without data streams (bank connections). You get:

  • Envelope budgeting with all category types
  • Manual accounts — add checking, savings, credit card, and investment accounts by hand
  • Manual transaction and holdings entry
  • Savings goals, recurring bills, and net worth tracking
  • AI integrations via MCP and API
  • Family sharing

It's the same app, just without automatic bank syncing.

Manual accounts

Unfortunately, not all banks and financial institutions are supported by Plaid — my wife's various Fidelity and government retirement accounts, for example, aren't available for automatic syncing. So we made it easy to import investment holdings from the UI and via MCP.

Even on plans with bank syncing, you can add manual accounts for institutions that don't support Plaid, or for cash accounts you want to track. Manually enter holdings to keep your full net worth picture in one place, and better starting balance management makes it easy to get your numbers right from day one.

API documentation

The REST API now has published documentation at /api/docs. If you're building integrations or connecting AI tools, this is where to start.
